About Us

Africa Cooperative Action Trust (ACAT Lilima Eswatini) is a Christian rural community development agency working to empower disadvantaged rural people especially women and children to improve their quality of life holistically. ACAT Eswatini started operations in 1982, where the focus was on savings for farming inputs. ACAT promotes savings and credit as one tool that empowers rural people in their self-help efforts to improve their quality of life. From inception, ACAT’s approach to people development has always been based on the mobilization of people to form savings groups that meet on regular basis for purposes of regular savings that are used to promote household food security, income generation and other Self- Help activities. ACAT uses participatory methods in her development interventions. This is done to promote strong ownership by beneficiaries and increased impact of our work. With the growing social, environmental, economic challenges, the organization is investing on its staff and systems that would allow it to learn from its work and those of similar organizations within the development sector.
